Jen Zanotti - Inspiring Woman Entrepreneur
/My journey began and continues to unwind in Highland Park, IL. After high school I went to trade school for Esthetics at Pivot Point. Once I graduated, I traveled to LA for film and television make-up school, followed by six years of artistry and management in the cosmetics world. Ten years ago I opened up my own business, called Jen Z’s. My business is ever-evolving, progressing into more and more arenas as I continue to grow.
It is my mission to empower, inspire, and motivate others to live out their happiest, healthiest lifestyle. I have become very passionate about health and fitness, as I experienced my own weight-loss journey ten years ago. I am a purple belt sponsored athlete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and I compete as well as instruct (people have told me that I’m the nicest badass they know). I have used my training in BJJ to help clients through wellness coaching with a focus on nutrition, health, fitness, stress-relief, and self-love. Additionally, my services include waxing, facials, my own skin-care, make-up, and reiki. My most recent project—“Focus for the Future”—aims to reach and help more people through my own lifestyle app and subscription website.
I have always been a natural healer of others, freely giving of my support and happiness to those whom I care about. But I had to learn that it was okay to care for myself. One of the hardest things I have experienced in life was my divorce. However, it was this which prompted me to begin my spiritual journey and to begin to love myself. I finally realized that my own happiness needed to be a priority, and that positivity is key. We all have to endure difficult life challenges, and in these moments we have a critical choice to make—take the easy road of dwelling in negativity, or hold on to hope and positivity. I firmly believe that a positive attitude is the most important tool we have in moving forward.
Coming up on two years post-divorce, I am currently living at home with my parents. I sacrificed a lot to get out of the situation I was in, and I have to continually invest a lot of my time and money in my business. However, I am setting my sights on a brighter future. I am currently completing my nutrition certification online, with the hopes of propelling my business forward! I have surrounded myself with countless strong, compassionate, amazing women who I look up to, and who inspire me to be that same inspiration for others. I strive to motivate and inspire women daily through my work and my women’s Jiu-Jitsu classes. With a supportive community, strong relationships, and a focus on self-care you can truly accomplish anything!
In addition to having a purple belt in Jui Jitsu and being an instructor, and competitor, Jennifer is a proprietor of a Spa in Evanston - Jen Z's Beauty Services, Inc.! Check her out at http://www.jenzanotti.com/
